Mother's Day!

I just wanted to document Mother's Day!  Riley and Hazyn did such a great job of making me feel special.  It was Hazyn's Birthday on Mother's Day, but we celebrated the day earlier so we were both able to have a special day on Sunday.  Riley always cooks breakfast on mornings that he doesn't work so that was nothing new, but he really wanted to make something special for me.  We love the kneader's french toast so he looked up the recipe and made it for me.  It was absolutely delicious!!  He even made the special syrup.

In addition to the special breakfast, he got me some new pants.  I couldn't believe that he picked out an entire outfit all by himself and that I actually liked it.  (And it even fit)!  It helps that he works at Burns and can pick out cool clothes.

And if that wasn't enough, he even got me a trip to Mesquite.  I've been wanting to get away for a while and Riley made that happen.  Hazyn was lucky enough to stay with Grandma Brenda while mom and dad were busy laying out in the sun, gambling, watching movies at the theater, and eating good food.  It was the perfect little get away for us.

Here is a picture of Hazyn and I (because I feel so lucky and blessed to be her mommy).  And the only pic that Riley and I took of our vacation:

1st Birthday Bash!

Here are some pics from Hazyn's 1st Birthday! We had a fun little family party at my parent's house.  My Dad smoked some brisquit and my Mom-In-Law made some yummy potatoes and a delicious salad.  And of course we had some delicious cake and ice-cream!

12 Months Old

Our Baby has now graduated to Toddler status!  She has gotten so big in the past month!  I don't even know where to start, but here it goes:

  • She started WALKING a couple weeks before her birthday!  I couldn't believe it.
  • She says mama, dada, da (dog), duck, and ya or yesh (yes).  Her favorite word is ya or yesh and seems to respond with those words at the best moments.
  • She has FINALLY started drinking milk.  I can't believe that she went 5 months without drinking milk.  I'm so relieved that she likes cows milk.  She doesn't drink as much as I would like, but beggars can't be choosers.
  • She is so good at playing.  She especially loves playing with her princesses, dolls, and of course her Eddy the Teddy.  She loves to pat her dolls and give them kisses.  I may or may not melt every time she loves her dollies.
  • She also loves to play Ring Around the Rosies and Hide and Seek!
  • She likes riding horses with her daddy and she also loves her dogs.
  • Her hair is so long that I could french braid it.  But it is so soft that it doesn't stay.
  • Her hair is also naturally curly - just like her dad's.
  • She loves to wave hi to everyone and Walmart.  It can be a little embarrassing, but she loves the attention and other people seem to get a kick out of it!
  • She has started pulling the "duck" face.  It seriously cracks us up everytime.
  • She still loves to dance and is getting really good at it.
  • She still LOVES other kids.  Especially her cousins.
  • And here are her 12 month pictures for you to enjoy: (I'm going to miss these photo shoots)....
