Finally A House Update!!

We layed Sod (Thank Goodness - The neighbor's yard is really muddy)! Here is our front door - Thanks to Rachel for my awesome wreath!!

Here is what our living room looked like painted and decorated before the tree came.

Our Tree and Christmas Decorations.

My awesome desk - aka office!!

Our kitchen table and side view of my office!!

We painted a Wall Green (The laundry room)

We painted a wall Red (We love it too)

It snowed a lot (I loved it - especially since I don't have to leave the house unless I want to).

We painted our Kitchen, Living Room, and Hallway a carmel brown color.

A lot has gone on since my last post. We have been busy working, working on school, and working on the house. We love our little home and can't wait until people start venturing North to come visit us. So here is what we've done!! (Its not in order cuz I don't know how to place the pictures in order. And Blogger is dumb and won't let me type this above the pictures.)

Home Sweet Officially Home!!

We finally have moved into this beautiful little home as of 5 o clock today. We love our little house and we love that got to pick everything out. (If you noticed that the door and the shutters are different colors, don't worry, we are changing the shutters to match the door. I hated the color of the shutters, so I had to change it.) Anyways, we love it here and I'll post more pictures when I get stuff put together.

Our House is ALMOST done - YaY!!

There have been a lot of new things go up on our house since my last update. They finished the painting, the driveway, the sidewalk, all the steps leading into our various doors, the cabinets, counter tops, and the light fixtures. The even installed a doorbell and gave us electricity. Each time we go our house becomes more and more livable. I don't have a for sure date when we can move in, but based off what they have left to do I'm hoping that we move in next weekend. All that is left is the plumbing (sinks and toilets), and carpet. Here are a bunch of pictures of the new updates. Sidewalk and driveway!

Utah State vs. BYU football game

On Friday Carl and Julie came up to Logan for the Utah State vs. BYU game. Unfortunately for Carl, BYU lost. But fortunately for me Utah State won (and yes Brett, I'm a fair weather fan, but I figured since I live in Logan I need to chear for Utah State). I actually could care less about watching the game, but the crowd was very entertaining. The picture below is the entire student crowd. (For those of us that went to SUU - we got ripped off - USU has a grand ol' time at games!!) We had a great time with Carl and Julie and can't wait until they come to visit again.
We had to force Carl to smile - He wasn't too happy with BYU at this point!

Sweat Equity!!

Cost of Tile and Supplies - A lot!!
Blood (literally) Sweat (lots of it) and Tears (itchy eyes from the really bad cold I had) - A couple years of my life.
Achey muscles - Another couple years of my life.
Time - 4 long days (keep in mind I had a bad cold too)
Cost of several diet Cokes - $20.

But the satisfaction of laying my own tile (with the help of mom and Riley) - Priceless!!

This past weekend (Thurs, Fri, Sat, and Sun.) my mom came up to Logan to help me lay the tile in our house. It was a lot of work, and I wondered what was I thinking several times, but now that its done I love it. On Thursday and Friday my mom and I got busy buying literally 1 ton of tile and laying it in our house. I seriously couldn't have done it without my mom's help. She kept me working hard and worked about 20 times harder than I did. We had a blast - most of the time. Then on Saturday and Sunday, Riley and I grouted the tile. It was an easier job than laying it, but I was so sick and sore and tired that it took us longer than it should have.

They put the brick on the house - now the exterior is almost complete!
Here is the tile in the kitchen before the grout.

Here is Riley grouting away!!

This is the entryway tile

And here is the kitchen's tile!! I thought it turned out really good.
This week they are installing the trim and painting the house. I'm getting so excited to live here - hopefully this last little bit goes fast.

Another House Update...

It feels like I'm updating this blog everyday, but the house is moving so fast that it has been hard to keep up. They have got a lot done this week. The further along it gets the harder it is for me to leave. I can't wait to live here (in 4 more weeks)! (Sorry the pics aren't the best - I forgot my camera so I had to take these with my phone). I was really worried that the colors Riley and I picked wouldn't look good - But I love love love them!!

Riley and his big garage - he spends the most time looking in here (he's planning where he's going to put everything.)

Our back patio. I can't wait to get some cute outdoor furniture to put out here. I think I'm going to get a fire pit thing so that I can sit out here in the winter.

They finished the drywall and got it taped, so now all they need to do is texture.

Our front door - Its going to be painted brown though!!

We Have Windows!

Well, our house now has windows and has been wrapped. On Monday they are going to insulate it and on Tuesday they will start drywall. It feels like everything is going really fast. We're excited!!
Our water heater and furnace.

This is the front window.

This is the kitchen window and our back door.

I decided to throw in a pic of Riley cooking us some yummy dinner. We decided to try grilling asparagus. It was really yummy!!

The "Trailerhood"

If you have heard the song "Trailerhood" by Toby Keith then you probably know what I'm talking about when I say we are living in the Trailerhood while our house is being built. Actually though, its not that bad. We are staying in an awesome campground in Mantua. There is plenty of shade, and with the exception of this weekend (Labor Day) there aren't that many people staying here. My parents trailer is pretty nice and roomy (for a camp trailer). Here are some pics of our temporary home. Our "front porch." Notice Riley's camp chef - he has had to become the cook because I'm scared of cooking on the camp chef and I hate cooking in the trailer.
Our "back porch." We are really shaded here so its been nice so far. I'll probably be begging for sun once it starts getting really cold.

This is literally a 50 foot walk from our trailer. Riley is in heaven here.

And so are the dogs. Jaci loves to play in the water.

And Tuff loves to bark at her while she does!!
So that is our home for now. If anyone feels like camping you can come be our neighbor:)

Would you like a house with that garage!!

Here is our house so far. It changes everyday so hopefully I can keep up. This is Riley's garage - yes I know it is huge, but that's what he wanted!! It will be the only room he has all to hisself so I wanted it too.
I love that SOLD sign in the front!!

Here is part of our kitchen and the hallway leading to the bedrooms.

Here is our back patio. I have a feeling this may be my favorite spot to work.

And here is another view from the front. We are so excited for our house and can't wait for it to be finished.

Another Dog... Are we crazy?

We still have our cute little dog Jaci Jo, but Riley decided that she needed a friend - to be more specific she needed a boyfriend. So we got a new puppy named Tuff!! He is the same kind of dog as Jaci and he is just as cute as her. And yes, we are crazy but we kind of like our little dogs.

Jaci naps right by my chair while I'm working!

Tuff naps right between my feet while I'm working!

I think they like each other!
Okay maybe not!!
